Endoscopy

Using a long, flexible, viewable microscope, the doctor can examine many aspects of the alimentary canal under general anesthesia. Cultures and biopsies of the stomach, esophagus, and portions of the small intestine and colon may be examined for bacterial overgrowth, tumors, foreign bodies, and inflammatory conditions. This procedure can help us determine many disease conditions without the significant risks of exploratory surgery.
